Hi, it was a day of misery for the two chicks. With EJ gone and it looks like Odin has gone too, there were no deliveries of fish yesterday.
Nature is playing its part. It is time the two juves went fishing for themselves or else start on their migratory journey. Odin has obviously felt it is time to kick start these two into foraging for themselves. If confirmed he is gone by the LG team it will be about the same time as last year.
The weather sounds foul at LG at the moment so hope they are sheltering safely somewhere.
Only time and a new day will tell us what is happening.
Over to the early morning team and thanks to all of you in California, Australia, Finland, and elsewhere for keeping us updated.

A cold, dark & deserted nest. It seems I have seen the last of EJ & Odin for this year. I wonder if the screeching GEMs will turn up today or will their instinct to migrate kick in.Many thanks to those watchers who have posted reports, pics & videos so I don't really miss too much with the 8½ hour time difference.
Evening/morning all:
Daisy Ray posted the following on yesterday's Daily Update after Lynette had started the new thread. I hope it's okay that I copied and pasted it here or no-one will see it! :-)
I agree with you, Lynette and Wattle 15.
They are birds, after all, and we are humans. We humans all do things differently; and so do birds of the same species. It is what Charles Darwin noticed in order to be able to write his Origin of Species. We wouldn't be here without evolution, which involves constant change.
I'm sure I wouldn't now do some of the things I did when bringing up my daughters. I think differently now compared with 27 years ago. Just because Odin and EJ are birds doesn't mean they can't change their ideas about bringing up their broods of chicks each year.
Well, just read yesterday's posts and my only comment is that I have a 20 year-old-grandson who hasn't yet learned to fish for himself and a 22-year-old granddaughter who seems to be fishing in all the wrong places! :-)
Heard an osprey a while ago, sounded like food soliciting but from a distance. I think the mood in this pic sums up my feelings this time of osprey season: beautiful but kind of blue

Evening Auntie! It's so nice to see you - you haven't been around much. Hope all is well. Looks pretty wet at LG today; no birds on the nest as yet.
I'm going to have to sign off folks as we're driving to Arizona tomorrow and hope to make an early start. Will take laptop and check in as time permits. Take care all.
Hi Annette! Have a safe drive. And I am OK been just really busy at work, so haven't had enough energy to write ( been watching and reading though) Take care ;)
I can hear an osp calling in distance. Oh, a fly past, and a wet soggy GEM lands. Stands in rain, complains bitterly. (It is raining & blustery here - don't know whether it's more miserable there or here.) GEM is on extreme left of nest - just see his tail.
A chick on nest, missed the capture.........was circling, calling, then briefly walked across the nest, now off to the left of screen just visible,

When Mam brought that last fish, she did say something strange. "Here you are, now I'm off to soak up the sun." I wonder what she meant. And where's Dad?
