Good morning, all. Woke up to the washing up which we didn’t do last night!
Lynette – good to see you on this thread – maybe you’ll pop in more often now that ENS has really kicked in! My Dad gradually entered dementia following a severe stroke (with other health problems). He lingered six months, and during that time he knew I was somebody, but from day to day I never knew whether I was meant to be my Grandmother, my Mother, myself as a child or the current me! Just before he died, he was lucid for about a week and wanted to count everybody and give each of us another member of the family to look after!
Annette – very sensible to take time out for a nap yesterday afternoon. I hope you all enjoyed your meal and evening together and that you are getting a good sleep now ready for the long drive home – take care. Don’t like the idea of Locusts munching in the trees in the city square!
AQ – sorry your garden is so wet, just when it’s cool enough to enjoy it! I hope it dries out for spring – what is your soil like? Does it drain well?
Lindy – didn’t watch Mountain Gorillas as I was sure we had seen it (or something very similar) before. We watched the Martin Clunes programme (recorded) about horses which is very good – part 2 next week. Enjoyed his one about dogs before – he is not just one of those celeb presenters who reads a script and wants to be on camera, he really immerses himself in the subject, and wherever possible experiences all the aspects he is talking about. Enjoy your cinema trip this afternoon.
Auntie – thanks for your Osprey Centre captures – when do yours leave on migration?
Alan – I hope the rain stops for you before all the RW Ospreys leave!
Brenda – that weather sounds more like October – I hope everybody is safe from falling trees etc. Oh dear, HW – that reminds me, our sunny weather means drying lots of clothes, which means … ironing!
Margo – No mention of your plumbing this morning, so I hope that means it is all ok. Our young blackbirds are getting adult plumage now, so we can see whether male or female – this also means the young males are beginning to argue about territory! PS just seen your toilet-watch report (lack of) – so pleased you got a night’s sleep.

That's brilliant Alan - I've had the camera on quite a bit today, but the most I've seen are gulls having a bath :-))

Well time to think about dinner now, curry tonight. Don't know whether I will get back on this evening and not sure when I will be able to look in tomorrow. Going to see Rhys my great nephew. He is growing fast, now has three teeth, can pull himself up to a standing position if he has something to hang on to and is loving the solid food he has now progressed to. All this and he is only just over seven months. How time flies.

This has been going on for 3 years or so now. We lost dad in 1997, the lady who owned the whole of the cottages died and her executors wanted as much money as they could for mum's cottage as well as the other one. Unfortunately my mum had been told she could live in the house in perpetuem after dad died but that was not to be. To cut a long story short, I think this brought on the TIA's which in turn became worse and resulted in the dimentia. I don't live close by so it is up to my brother to visit, which he does most days. I only visit 2/3 times a year as I live in Northants and my original home is in Worsley, GT.Manchester.
Enough of the wallowing, time will tell what is going to happen to her.
It has been a thoroughly miserable day down here. Hubby was suppose to be at County Ground on the PA system but the match was abandoned for the day at about 12pm. Hopefully they will play tomorrow and I will get him out of my hair for a bit!!!!!
Will miss tuning in to the LG site but will have to find some more wildlife sights to follow - anyone know of any that one can follow during the winter months.

Hmmm. I need to do some research on sites to watch over the winter. I don't know what the RSPB will have available this year. Just off the top of my head, though, here are some other suggestions:
(1) http://mysite.verizon.net/vdziadosz/ Here's a global list of bird webcams -- some of which will probably operate over our winter.
(2) http://www.ustream.tv/hummingbirdnestcam This is a lovely hummingbird nest cam that promises to be back in the fall. It's very popular with the LG bloggers.
(3) http://www.newforestgateway.org/Wildcam/LiveCameras/tabid/117/Default.aspx The New Forest site always has webcams running over the winter. I especially enjoy the Deer rut cam that will come online later on. I just love to listen to the various types of deer bellowing. Beautiful deer streaming video.
(4) http://www.djuma.com/ Click on "LIVE WEBCAM". This is webcam from a private game reserve. They conduct photography and sight-seeing safaris (no hunting) three times per day. You can virtually ride along in the jeep and see the wildlife. I think this site is a bit intrusive to the wildlife, but others may not agree, and it is enjoyable. Right now, they appear to be having a bit of a technical problem.
(5) http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/2926 This site will have various webcams available all winter. I personally enjoy watching the webcam on the Baltic Sea. You can often see and hear seals, as well as eagles and other sea life. They will also have a very good webcam in the forest that shows wild boars, raccoon dogs, deer, and other wildlife. I think, however, that it is connected to a hunting lodge...
(6) http://www.martingrund.de/pinguine/ Some of us like to watch the penguins after the ospreys leave.

Folks avidly watched the bear hibernation den cam featuring Lily and her cub Hope. I don't know whether there will be a den cam this year or not.
