Hi folks, not a lot has happened yesterday.. There was some acitivity in the morning and very little in the afternoon/evening unless I missed anything.
Are they perhaps getting ready for migration. We non't see the GEM's on the nest quite so frequently now, could they be fishing themselves or are EJ and Odin dropping fish into trees as was suggested yesterday, for them to pick up. This is a part of the ospreys life that we don't know much about but what a preveledge to watch them through all these weeks growing up. I'm prattling on just for something to say. I'll hand over tothe night staff and leave you with a poinant reminder of the nest. -- DESSERTED!!

Thank you to the night shift for all the updates. It seems at least two of the GEM's have had decent sized fish this morning and one was left with just the tail end. Oh well. thats life in the osprey world. Thanks for the pics as well. Looks a wet and grey day up there as is down here in Northants.
Morning all and thanks for all your earlier reports. Just saw Odin on the nest briefly, at least I think it was Odin as I could not make out the head markings.
Very quiet, back later
Morning. Thanks for all the reports & pics.
Forlorn looking nest today, and I see from reports that Odin is still bringing in sticks! Perhaps he just feels he has to be doing something... my OH is much the same, a man of action who feels lost without a project....
This is Eldest . Hello Everyone and thank for a blow by blow account of the early morning 'doing's. So, they have all had a meal. Well, good. But clearly fish still comes to the nest so I am personally not convinced that the juves are brought fish in trees (yet). And I am not convinced any are fishing for themselves. I asked the question on the Official Blog yesterday but it sometimes takes a few days to get a reply cos they are so busy. Nevertheless, I hope someone posts as to whether or not the juves ARE fishing.
So grateful for the pics too, you early risers :) Joan, Brenda, Lynette

GEM STILL EATING
Good morning all and thanks for to the night and early morning shift for the fish reports which always pleases me as I do not think they are catching their own fish yet. Thanks to Lynette, DjoanS and Brenda for the pics. All I can see is the large stick that Odin has decided to bring in, think he must be getting ready for next year. I wonder how long it will be before one of the youngsters moves it. Off to catch up with yesterday now but hopefully at some point I will see an osprey. Sounds as though it is raining at LG at the moment and it does look very gloomy.

Quitetwoman I meant to say yesterday I have signed the petition. Cannot believe that these beautiful amimals could become extinct.
Just caught up and the video of the EJ with a fish and Odin trying to take it is priceless. Poor Odin he doesn't get a lot of thanks from his family with the GEM's having a go at him and now EJ.
Someone has just landed on the camera post with what sound like intruder warning whistles.
An invisible bird has just landed behind the camera.........
