The three juveniles are thriving under Mrs G and Aran's continued care, proving once again what formidable parents they are. Long may the season continue to be be hassle-free as it nears the time for migration
Birdies LG DU update.
Mike B said:MC. 12noon A flock of Whooper Swans feeding and some flying in.
They were on the river even before daycam, Mike
The other birds separated out - I did all this yesterday and somehow got sidetracked, and now I see that a precious clip is missing: 2 ducks mating in the water, one stoically submerged... what the heck happened to it?
I've been into Recycle Bin and can't find that clip, oh misery me.
IMAGICAT
This morning it was Canada geese instead of swans, they were there before first light:
12 Feb add-on:
Someone out with bins to watch the Whoopers:
13 Feb - controlled burning?
12 February late afternoon, was this the Whoopers taking off in stages?
13 February
Back in the morning:
Teal and Mallard - am I right? I didn't try to find any other type, but tickled to learn they are "dabblers"... but have already forgotten the other type... not dunkers... divers!
Looks like it was a very dismal day, weather-wise. The swans and Canada geese didn't seem to mind, they're still around a-plenty.

Glad to see that someone's keeping an eye on me - it has to be done!
Sorry all and thank you, TeeJay - I meant HERON, I'm trying to think of someone to blame... Nope, there's only me
Before 10:00 this morning:
Pheasant on the faux osprey nest:
Swans, duck, heron:
Little Egret:
A single swan, probably the gooseberry of the trio seen the other day, was on the river for hours until late afternoon.
