GLASLYN OSPREYS - AUGUST 2020 to end of FEBRUARY 2021

  • In reply to scylla:

    Pretty sure it's a Robin.
The posture and mannerisms just before it takes off are typical Robin, I think it just has a dark crown, the chest looks red.

  • In reply to scylla:

Just watched it in slo-mo and I think the mystery bird was a wren.
  • In reply to JillR:

It looks far too big to be a Wren and the tail is too long and the wings are pretty long. The head shape looks all wrong as well.
The picture Scylla posted looks wrong shape for a Wren as well.

  • Mmm, until I saw the photo I was about to say that the bird on the right bottom was a robin but with the blue and white wing bar yep. it's a male Chaffie

  • In reply to Gardenbirder:

Glad to have caused some disagreement - my thought was Chaffie for the same reasons as CIRRUS, but I'm the least knowledgable here ;)

Thank  you for the new links, GARDENBIRDER, but they were wasted on me because I've been so bleugh all day - "I just can't get going so I won't even try any more!".

  • In reply to scylla:

After watching the video clip again i am still sticking with Robin. The pose before it flies off with its tail in the air and the wings protruding backwards is a typical Robin pose.

  • In reply to Richard G B:

Well there's no doubt about this one - late afternoon!
