HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MOON!

The new moon (the dark moon) is on 20 July.

Everyone have a safe and content week!

  • HARELADY - These are strange times and I think it helps to know how we are all feeling. You are right, changing one's thought processes is much easier said, than done.
  • I think in many ways we shouldn't be trying to change our thought processes. Nobody has been through times like this in our lifetime, and there are no 'right' or 'wrong' ways to think about it. Each one of us has to be honest about how we are feeling - and it's not wrong to feel different from each other! And I agree - it helps me to know I'm not the only one snapping at people and being constantly tired!!
  • Serious software problem again! Getting it sorted - must move on to next part!
  • Oh heck, OG! You must be tired of probs with the pc. Hope it can be sorted out.

Pat - Absolutely right, no right or wrong ways to think, and we are all taking things differently according to circumstance. But we are all in this thing together, and its been good to see how nationally, we have been coming together, for instance. Such kindnesses we hear about every day, and some really inspiring people who have cared for others in ways above and beyond the call of duty. My OH has snapped at me a couple of times, and his doing that is a once in ten years event! So of course I took no notice, LOL!

I've noticed a lot of folks in the media talking about tiredness, and either not sleeping at night, or being weary during the day. I think its because our minds are working overtime.
  • Sis in law Sue has been having a new downstairs loo installed, and some retiling done. Lots of jokes yesterday about her having a new "throne" to sit upon!! But she has just messaged me to say that the poor plumber who was there only yesterday, was taken ill last night at 2.00am and whisked off to hospital where he was told he had blocked arteries. He is now recovering from emergency treatment. He is only the age of our sons - mid 40s!
  • I have just lost a longish post., and found I was not signed in. Have now lost the will to repeat it, but sending best wishes to all.
  • Dibnnib - We are doing a Loch and Glens Holiday and staying at the Loch Tummel Hotel. Visiting Scone Palace, Pertyh, Killin , The Trossachs and Callendar. and a Highland Safari and the Red Deer Centre. Calendar and The Trossachs we have visited before when we lived in Scotland for a short time but it will be lovely to see how things are now many years later.. We don't want to cancel but it is all in the lap of the gods as to what happens between now and then, hopefully all goes ahead still.

The vaccine news is hopeful but they were saying that they wanted at least 50,000 people to take part to try and get a concensus of how it is going. We can only wait and see.

Getting out now to local shops , particularly my greengrocers. Picked up 6 bunches of statis with helibores(I think) so that when they dry out it makes for a really nice dried flower arrangements. I have them in several recepticles - just love the statis.
  • Heather and Harelady it must get very lonely at times whilst this pandemic is still with us. I don't know what to say but just hold on in there, there is a light at the end of this long tunnel and things are getting back to some sort of normality. Keep smiling through., perhaps easier said than done at times.

Lindybird - do hope you arrange something with your son soon as it will lift all your spirits.
  • Pat O - you have summed it up beautifully. Just be yourselves and do what feels right to you.
  • Food shop over & done for the week. I continue to maintain 2 spares of essential items. OH dithered about going out to lunch but he is still here. I guessed as much and bought 2 mini pizzas for a lazy lunch.

Visible progress yesterday on the Grand Design – a TV antenna installed on roof. This is our view in late afternoon sunshine.  The two “eyes” face west.
