I'm starting this thread in case it's not possible for MARY to do it due to the first-of-the-month freeze-up.
Aila, Louis and their 3 chicks are flourishing, with Louis proving a great provider to the biggest family he's had so far.
I might add some snaps 'n things if I last a bit longer, but let's get the thread on the road first ;)
IMAGICAT
Three chicks waiting in anticiatience
C WT Loch Arkaig
Louis delivered a fish around 05.25 this morning.
Only two on the nest overnight and JJ6 missed out of this feed
Aila demolished the fish tail and immediately called for more fish

It's amazing, isn't it. Such a different perspective! To see all five perching both on and off the nest is wonderful.
Fish number one, headless trout 05.21.47 Aila takes it but keeps calling. Doddie doesn't appear although someone is seen doing a flypast at 05.22.40 from right to left, from her reaction it's probably him but he doesn't land, and she finally starts eating at 05.25. Captain moves in for a share.

Morning Mary! Did you see my post yesterday about the Ridley Scott global youtube project? It's taking place on July 25th, and you might want to join in.

Thanks Liz & Geemeff for the vids of the nest. The different perspective does go against the theory that osprey prefer their nest to be at the high point of the area. Ian
11.44, a fish arrives. JJ6 is not on the nest. After a bit of waiting (to see if JJ6 comes back?) Aila starts feeding one of the other chicks. Ian
EDIT - both the chicks on the nest are now being fed. 12.24, JJ6 is back but there is no fish left as it was finished by Aila at 12.17.

13.49, whole fish. Again only two chicks are on the nest, JJ6 flew off at 13.28. JJ6 had spent quite a bit of time prior to leaving on the perch sticking out from the front of the nest that JJ0 used in 2019. Ian
Fish
JJ6 on the perch before flying off and missing the fish.
