I'm starting this thread in case it's not possible for MARY to do it due to the first-of-the-month freeze-up.
Aila, Louis and their 3 chicks are flourishing, with Louis proving a great provider to the biggest family he's had so far.
I might add some snaps 'n things if I last a bit longer, but let's get the thread on the road first ;)
IMAGICAT
Happy Independence Day to all our US friends.
Louis has been celebrating in style.....
He brings in a second fish @ 04.08 HRS - now this is funny, as Aila decided to start feeding the chicks from the previous fish tail. In the mean time Louis leaves the live fish on the nest which JJ8 (chick 3) sits on top off. It took Aila a while to discover the whole flapping fish.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
A third fish is delivered @ 05.18 HRS
Aila and Louis almost head butt each other as they both arrive on the nest at the same time
Think I will go for a lie down after all that - I am exhausted already!
Love this Aila is sitting on her perch fish calling, when one chick lifts its head with an indignant look on its face.
EDIT: On that humorous note its "FREEDOM" day - can now go more than 5 miles so heading out to the hills (not to walk on them) just to look at them Pity Loch of the Lowes isn't open or could have headed there, instead will feast my eyes upon our Lochs and Glens instead

As predicted, the dry weather didn't last. Ian

Morning, Scylla, Mary, Ian, patily (hope I didn't miss anyone!) Love all the videos and snaps especially Mary's with the speech bubble - the chicks and Aila are so spoilt with all Louis' hard work, they barely made the effort to show enthusiasm for the fish! Aila did get them to move at 06.36 when she caused chaos with a stick - decided the best place for it was on top of them..
WT George says the chicks' crops were so full that the ringer needed to double check the measurements, so with luck we'll get gender info today. That's if the site doesn't shut down from the comments, very slow and being somewhat trolled by a mischievous individual :-( Perhaps they'll think better of it and delete their comments.
It's all a bit soggy up there

Geemeff "WT George says the chicks' crops were so full that the ringer needed to double check the measurements"
I think I mentioned that at 14.25 yesterday. Ian
JJ8 is looking a big strong bird, even in a wet bedraggled state. Looks a lot like a female.
