.A hasty start to the new month, to get something done in BIRDIE's forced absence and before the possible/probable FIRST OF THE MONTH FREEZE (and I've already got freezing probs here!).

Parents and chicks are all doing well, with no real upsets so far.

I had to take a phone call and when I looked backKC3 was safely back on the nest as fish had arrived but in fact he doesn't want any and has now settled down

This caught my eye while I'm doing my own fledge vid - uh-oh! The two chicks are officially juvies now
All looking rather hangdog:
KC4 was alone on the nest all night, did quite a bit of flapping! From around 04:00 s/he (I can't remember) was on the fence with the leftover flounder at his/her feet, and started eating it at 05:00, but after some minutes KC2 came along and took it - KC4 didn't mind, did some energetic wingercising - I don't think we'll have such a late third fledger as last season.
If you can't follow me... I'm tired.
Since I snapped this a third juvie has landed on the perch with MrsG and sibling:
