HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY SOLSTICE!
Everyone have a wonderful, safe, healthy week!
There were lots and lots of new posts at the end of last week's thread, so check back.
Just a thought
Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face. (Victor Hugo (1802-1885))
Hi, all.
I opened my front door and walked down the sidewalk this evening to go to the convenience store on the highway for a bean burrito. As I stepped off the sidewalk, I heard an extremely loud squawk and a great rustling of wings. It was a huge Great Blue Heron! It had been sitting in a tree near my front door, and I startled it. The U.S. has many species of Great Blue Heron, but this one is the large, very blue type. I think the one on my land also eats the little tree frogs.
The Midwest is getting so much more rain now in the spring through fall that little fish are being forced from the flood control lake upstream into my small creek. So the Heron is now feeding from the creek often, and I also have Mallard Ducks now. There have never been ducks in this creek until the last 2 or 3 years, but now I hear them quacking all the time.
Heavy rain in Tasmania and this gem appears.
No rain in SA, or at least in our suburb.
