Hi everyone.Nest empty at the moment. So not a lot happening on camera. Can't believe the time has peregrined to after 2am in these parts. So I'm away to roost. Catch you all later :-)
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
One chick arrived back on the nest -- oh oh just flown off again when he realised there was no food available.

Another visitation by a noisy GEM. Can hear geese in the distance. Surely they are not departing already! GEM flew off........ENS :-(
It certainly looks as if EJ is not bringing in a whale tonight, or have I missed something. No doubt someone will put me right.
Hi again, Emma Peel, wonder what is happening tonight. No whale offering as such. Maybe EJ has decided to cut down late deliveries!!
Emma, I agree whole heartedly with you:)
Moon is shining on the nest with darkness all around - ENS

Hi Brenda. Sorry about the late reply. Not which GEM it was with the fish. Odin certainly got out of there at a fair rate of wing flaps. Thanks for the video Alan.Great pics, Lynnette. Thanks for posting them.Emma. I'm not sure about why the zooming camera is not being used yet. Perhaps there's something the tech people do during the ringing and tagging of the chicks to get ready for a camera switch, which this year couldn't happen because the high winds cancelled this year's ringing and tagging. Of course I'm just guessing.
Oh dear, so no whale tonight. (EJ, what is going on?). So, who has gone hungry then? Off to watch Alan's video to see if there are any answers in it
EDIT - I've misunderstood. Anyway, the 'second' fish Odin brought also went to Eldest then and we won't know if anyone else got a bite.

Not acceptable Heron - no no - I think it's a cicada-
Yes, a great 'ditty' Lindy :)
All quiet now on the nest. I will head off on hols on Friday so won't be posting much, if at all, before then. Will return on 20th August by which time some migrations - at least one juvenile's and one parent's - will probably have begun. Plan to visit LG on 28th August but more of that when I get back. Depending on the mood of the group here I will enquire about the lack of mobile images when I visit. I wonder if Richard and co feel that because the ospreys have not been ringed, they feel as compromised as we are in trying to identify which osprey is where, therefore too many demands would be made of them....just a thought.
I hope you have plenty of fish fests in the next couple of weeks. Barbara Jean made reference earlier to the night last year when EJ sat on the nest waiting with a piece of fish for Rothes. I will never forget it. The light faded and all we could see was the white of EJ's front as the light receded and eventually EJ left the nest. I too had waited and waited. The nightshift reported that EJ was on the nest alone for hours and hours. Rothes never arrived. Later Richard informed us that Rothes had already started her migration. It was so poignant. As I type there is an osprey around, cheeping nearby. Happy viewing in the coming days everyone. Emma
