Hi, all. Annette may be busy with her friends this evening, so I'm starting the new thread for the week. Be sure to read the last few posts on the old one. AQ is off on a history bus tour, and she promises a report and maybe photos. Yay. TerryM, enjoy your holiday and I hope the weather is nice!
My back is well and truly out, so I'm going to bed. Sorry that I can't make any specific replies. I'll try to catch up soon. Everyone have a wonderful week!
Ouch!!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Lynette : Sorry about your hubbys injury. When I played cricket for the school , I used to wear a "box" when I was batting. Perhaps umpires should wear them also.
Wow how is this for a real on the ground report? Tagging an osprey. See http://puleston.osprey.bnl.org/MessageViewID_Archive.php?thread=62266&mess=0
Tiger Signature
Lynette that must have been painful for your husband. Makes my eyes water.
Margobird
Glad you had aprofitable day at the races Margobird I used to go to Ayr races with a group from the bowling green and they aways asked what I was betting so that they could bet something else asI was never lucky.
Congratulations OG on your 42nd anniversary so by this time you should be into each others ways.
Been watching the GP and Michael Schu really tried to take Ruebens out of the race. Arsenal play Celtic shortly so will be watching that. Alan the football starts next weekend so we will have something to occupy us when the ospreys leave.
BiL still in hospital and he has been told he won't be getting home until he is much steadier on his legs but he knows how ill he is and he is desperate to get home so sometimes when we go into visit he is very grumpy. The ward he is in in the hospital has a great view right across the Forth so we have taken in binoculars so that he can watch the ships going up and down and there is also a great view of Inchkeith.
Hope everyones aches and pains get better soon and those going on holiday have a nice time.

Oh thanks Alan. Although I had looked at that picture I had not realised that, that was all part of the tracker. Up to now it had not occured to me that the harness is actually very big. The weight of the transmitter is not the only issue in tracking, the harness matters too.
Hallo all: Friend left this morning at 6 a.m.; other friend had car trouble on the way to the airport in Seattle and missed her flight, so is planning to reschedule. Nevertheless, had a lovely visit wtih Friend #1. We spent all the time chatting and yesterday visited some lovely nurseries (garden centers) where she bought various succulents and pots and I browsed the native/drought resistant offerings. We ended up at La Sumida, kinow for its marvellous rose selection, but in between managed to cram lots of yummy food in, ending with cafe au laits and slices of white strawberry cake (the same as the one I got when granddaughter was visiting a couple of months ago).
Have just read all the posts I missed - phew! So congrats to OG on anniversary and Margobird for successful day at Goodwood, and - oh dear - sorry about bad backs and cricket injuries (that one made me wince!). Thanks to all for garden pix, osprey links, eclipse photos, poems, and interesting/funny commentary.
Am off to the gym to try to work off some of the food I stuffed myself with over the last two days. :-( Back later. Hope you're all doing okay today.
Good afternoon – nearly evening. Thanks for anniversary wishes. Went to Cream Tea at another village – they are doing them there four Sundays in August.
Margobird – good that you enjoyed your day at the races – I hope you have had a restful day today.
Alan – lovely clear pic of hotel at Portmerion – never been there myself, although OH went with his parents many years ago.
George – good to see you here again. How thoughtful of you to take bins in for BiL to watch the shipping – I hope his bed stays in the same place so he can continue to see out. Maybe he’ll spot some of the Osps travelling south on their migration!
Annette – see from the Daily that you are about again! Looking forward to your news on here!
Crocosmia “Lucifer” is doing its utmost for the hot corner right now!!
