*It is with much regret to report that Lassie (LF15) failed to return*
‘An Empty Nest’ blog >>> scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/2020/04/an-empty-nest/
For reasons known only to them, Laddie (LM12) and this season's new female, NC0, have made the decision not to use the webcam nest. We can only hope that they are safe and successfully incubating eggs somewhere in the immediate area of the Loch and that, as this month progresses, they will grace us occasionally with their presence on camera. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy, and report on, the sights and sounds of this beautiful location.

Morning all.
Thanks for the pics and posts re Laddie's early morning visit
Watching scroll back, a millisecond before he left the nest, there was a reflection of a bird flying over the Loch. Laddie chipped and flew in the same direction

I've just come upon it in one of my sporadic catchups of LOTL's cam :o
He was on the nest for 11 minutes, chipping on 'n off all the way thru!
Then there was a Great Tit - two, actually, but they made it too difficult to capture them both:
Then there was a smaller bird which might have been a Coal Tit, too small for a clear snap.
This morning, a family/group of someones sailing out into the loch:
That's up to 04:48.

Yesterday morning:
Another sunny morning at Loch of the Lowes.
We have had an unusually amount of sunny days in Scotland since the end of March, which means that all nesting birds as well as our Ospreys should have flourished this season which is very encouraging.

As there is not much activity to report, and it's the end of the month, I'm wondering whether to start a June thread or continue with this one but change the title to May/June 2020. Any thoughts will be most welcome.
