*It is with much regret to report that Lassie (LF15) failed to return*
‘An Empty Nest’ blog >>> scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/2020/04/an-empty-nest/
For reasons known only to them, Laddie (LM12) and this season's new female, NC0, have made the decision not to use the webcam nest. We can only hope that they are safe and successfully incubating eggs somewhere in the immediate area of the Loch and that, as this month progresses, they will grace us occasionally with their presence on camera. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy, and report on, the sights and sounds of this beautiful location.

How kind, MICHAEL
This guy emerged from behind the nest at about 11:30 and stood around for well over 10 minutes!
The cam went down @ 12:41 and didn't come back up till 13:45, during which time I got flooded with failure files, grrr. All sorted.
IMAGICAT
Allowing for some dropouts, nothing to report up to 07:48 this morning.
Scrolled back but couldn't see anything - lots of blanks though so Scylla may pick up something.
Not sure if this has been posted before - I absolutely love this video that Scottish Wild Life Trust has done - I have it posted on my timeline on Facebook....
So for those who haven't seen it - I am sure it is worth sharing again..... Click to view on You Tube to see it on the bigger screen....

Thanks for posting the beautiful video, MARY :)
I meant to say a few days ago that the reason I know the difference between Tawny and Barn Owls is because I've spent half my online life following the Cornish and Starr Ranch Barn Owls, and have seen numerous intrusions on various nests by naughty Tawnies
(In my limited experience Tawnies are more aggressive than Barnies, too.)
I think this was a bit after midnight last night - the owl was there for over 4 minutes but I made a rough cut while it was doing nothing in the middle - in fact I only did this video out of duty, it's not exactly eventful ;)
These two were on the nest for ages, giving it a good going over, late in the afternoon on this rainy, windy day. After they left, one came back a couple of times.
That's up to 20:23.
Great video of the Tawny owl Scylla, so glad it turned round for you before it left
The Tawny was back again last night, right at the changeover from day to nightcam, and you know how the cam behaves then.
It only turned its face our way just before it flew off - after only 30 seconds or so:
Just beautiful, Scylla! It's getting to be a regular visitor
Mary, thanks for the link to the 'This is Scotland' vid, I'd missed that on their site
Scrolling back, there were a few visits from ravens again today
Sandra P said:Scrolling back, there were a few visits from ravens again today
This Raven spent ages picking over the nest - the 2 visits I've noticed were noonish and a couple of hours later:
Tawny popped on not long before daycam but stayed a shorter time and only turned around as it was about to take off:
Done up to 08:30.
No Tawny overnight, no little birds seen this morning, but a Raven did some digging on the nest and its pal emerged after it left to check the standard ;) Some cawing.
Not edited, just over 2 minutes.
