*It is with much regret to report that Lassie (LF15) failed to return*
‘An Empty Nest’ blog >>> scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/2020/04/an-empty-nest/
For reasons known only to them, Laddie (LM12) and this season's new female, NC0, have made the decision not to use the webcam nest. We can only hope that they are safe and successfully incubating eggs somewhere in the immediate area of the Loch and that, as this month progresses, they will grace us occasionally with their presence on camera. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy, and report on, the sights and sounds of this beautiful location.

Karen W said:I do hope it is him Sandra. Fingers crossed it is and thanks for the wonderful captures :-)
You're welcome :)I think this was Laddie, he seemed really relaxed on the nest, Karen. Yesterday's one was so dark on the head and appeared to not 'know' the nest, quite nervous being there (only my thoughts)

14:06 Looks like Laddie's back on the nest now - front head markings look very dark though so is it him? With a headless fish and he's chipping/mantling
(Using my Table skills wot KAREN taught me ;) )
I tried to improve the sound but lowering the background noise distorted the wind badly :(
Then today SANDRA wrote, with copious supersnaps:
10:45 Was this Laddie on the nest? Flew round from behind the trees before landing on the nest, a couple of chips but was very calm, just surveying the area
Very lucky to get Laddie's visit, wot with Windows Updates and a corrupted several-hour file.

Scylla, you're a star!
Thank you so much!
Just random, there appeared to be an osprey bathing 14:30
Flight away
Quite a while before that, this large bird flew from under the trees and around over the Loch

Posted on LotL Fb. Wow, this is superb! 8 minutes of delightful (and relaxing) footage showcasing life on the Loch (including the Ospreys) in 2019. Well done Johnny!

Some beautiful scenes there - and Lassie ... thank you, Sandra :-*
It's been very windy for the past couple of days, and today one of Laddie's big clumps got blown into the centre of the nest - it's still there, hanging on ;)
