First day of a new month tomorrow - will the forums be incredibly slow?

Writing from DownUnder at 3 pm: It was horribly slow when I tried this this morning. Seems OK now (fingers crossed)

RICHARD & AQUILAREEN, you both timed it brilliantly, only a few minutes after recovery. My 2-minute post above was a freak, it went much slower after that before recovery.

Slowdown was from 03:00 to something after 6, I didn't get the recovery until posting @ 06:15.

I looked in at 6 and it was woeful, then all of a sudden, hey presto, all back to normal.
You must have the patience of a Saint to keep posting so many comments and pics when it's like that.

This was my post that I started 45 minutes ago on another browser which was still waiting to post

So when I found the site was back to normal again I have copied and pasted it here, just for the record.

I was awake at 03.06 & the penny dropped, quite slowly, that it was 1st of the month when nowt would open as normal!! Gave up

Just to let you all know I am due a 'phone call from Rebecca of RSPB at 4 30pm today on another matter.
I will mention this 'outage' at the same time.

Don't want to talk too soon, but all seems good today so far.

The site was awful before 05:50 taking ages to access/post then suddenly all was fine.
