HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Almost spring...sort of. Today is Imbolc, the ancient traditional holiday marking the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. I'm ready for a little sunshine. This has been the most dark, dreich winter ever.

    just catching up. Heather B - yes that is what has been diagnosed. Paroxysmal positional vertigo . Went for blood pressure check on Wed and that was OK but said I was still having symptoms so she managed to get me in to see a doctor that afternoon. Well checked over with two male medical students in attendance - lucky me. Did several tests to rule out anything else and came up with PPV. Prescribed tablets and exercises from the net to do. Tried them today, only once ,instead of 3-5 times a day, as it made me feel really dizzy - but that is normal. Must persevere with more tomorrow.
    OG- didn't mention about fall, but the symptoms have been going on and off since November and apparently. according to the description, sickness can happen. Feel reassured that there is a diagnosis and I just have to get on with it.

    Annette - glad dau got off ok. Nice that you had the visit and interaction with the generations however tiring.
    Pat O - How nice to spend the day with I presume your grandchild. You were a busy girl, I bet you're bushed now.
    Unfortunately I won't be seeing grandchildren. Son married an older lady who already had a dughter and our daughter has not met anyone yet. However, we have a step-ggchild on the way so might get to see the little one occasionaly. They live in Bristol.
    Weather has been reasonably dry with a lovely frosty morning today, more tomorrow but apparently we are in for s storm over the weekend with high winds.!!

    See that one of Hollywood's great icons has died at 103 - Kirk Douglas - he was a good actor.

    OG - glad to hear J has more energy now. I'm sure the GG Brigade would be only too pleased to receive some craft material and as you say maybe your local craft shop can utilise the tools. Hope you get some satisfaction.

    Lynette - Charlie is my great-nephew. I'm part of a complicated family, with my only daughter being childless and my niece having adopted Charlie almost two years ago. I live almost 150 miles away, so rush down for a few days whenever I can. My sister and brother in law live about ten miles from their daughter and provide five-star accommodation, so it's well worth the time and distance to spend time with all of them. It does mean, though, that my work comes with me and I spend a lot of time in front of the computer, as ever … the price I am happy to pay for seeing Charlie grow up a happy and loving little boy.

    LYNETTE - pleased you have the diagnosis - hope you can tolerate the exercises as you get used to them.

    ANNETTE - was surprised only Dau set off home to Prescott - imagined GD and GGD are hiding somewhere in your house!

    Lovely frosty and sunny morning! An adventure already: Son spotted a dog in the back garden, OH opened back door to find a Bassett Hound there - no lead or collar. Eventually found near neighbour looking for it - belongs to his Dau and he is dog-sitting it along with his Labs. It was in their garden so without its collar, but managed to get out. So glad it safely crossed the road and found our garden and didn't try finding its way home.

    OH gave J a lift to work as he has messages in town, and thence to Tesco. Taking me to Doc this afternoon - not the usual one who is now part time, but a colleague who seems to work with her. Not sure whether there is anything wrong, but I am concerned about a few symptoms. Prepared for a telling-off as I have had them from before Christmas!

    I'm a bit preoccupied today - my eldest stepdaughter has had an acute cardiac event and is at present in hospital. (You are not the only one with a complicated family, PAT! ) She is half sister to my youngest daughter and only 61.

    Oh, dear, Heather. Very worrying for you, and for her, too of course. Hope that as she's "in the best place" she will soon be home again, and recovered.

    Heather:  Let us know how stepdaughter is doing.

    OG;  Granddaughter and Ms D left (driving) Sunday early evening for the long drive home. Granddaughter's fiance is a sheriff in that area; his shift ended late that night and he was able to meet them in his squad car and 'escort' them safely back home on the last very quiet stretch of road.  Grandson was down for the day Saturday.   Nice that the dog was retrieved by his temporary owner, who must've had a scare when he noticed it was missing.

    Complicated families?  Sign me up.  :-)
