It is very upsetting seeing these beautiful birds so obviously injured (although the tail injury one seems to look somewhat unaffected, but may eventually get an infection?). My suspicions are that the other birds with chest/crop injuries have also been shot at with these little darts, which have then fallen out?

Nothing fascinating to post from the past day or so... so much so that I forgot all about these...
The young apprentice and a mentor-not-Scott stripped the bird feeders last evening:
Raccoons and rabbits overnight, and a brief non-eating visit by the black cat.

A big Windows crash followed by a long Dell update package, hence am all behind and missing some of today's cam activity.
This was yesterday.
Just after a hail shower the apprectice was dutifully tending the feeders:
Then it snowed but gradually thawed - this Raccoon paid several visits, here it was chomping with its tongue sticking out but it may not show up well:
The Jay stood its ground and was soon joined by pals:
