Hi, all. Today's issue of Quanta Magazine (an online science journal) had an article that discusses how humans, birds, and other animals are able to focus attention on a moving object, without becoming distracted by other moving things in the area. The author gave an example of an osprey that can focus its gaze on a swimming trout but filter out the movement of the water flowing in the river.
The article has a big, beautiful photo of Blue 28 having just plucked a fish from the water. If I remember correctly (I'm probably wrong), Blue 28 is a Manton Bay, Rutland, bird.
I just thought others might like to see the large, vivid photo and/or read the article. HERE
