Lisa you will find many similar photos on Gary Jones's site, including several of 'Wonky Wing'. Gary sold some a while ago and donated the proceeds to Roy Dennis's charity.

Hi everyone, still here but severely lurking ;-) . Managed to see my first ospreys on recent visit to Miami. First was sitting on a tree branch as we went on an airboat trip in the everglades :-D.

The next two sightings were on different days, just sitting on a lamp post. I guess they are not spooked by traffic and people. I was very pleased to have seen them. tBoL :-) 

Well done, you, TBoL, on seeing an Osprey in person. And welcome back from lurking (not that there is anything at all wrong with lurking, of course!) There is something special about seeing an Osprey or any other fabulous bird in person. Apparently North American Ospreys definitely are far happier living close to each other than UK Ospreys, and as you say, they are not as spooked by humans as Ospreys in the UK.
