These recovery projects rely so often on small numbers of winners, which have survived their first years learning the migration routes

That is something that fans would do well to remember. Yes a lot of young perish but the few survive to become the breeders of tomorrow.

I did not know that Yellow HA was a partner of  Morven. Yellow HA was one of those four super ospreys mothered by The Norwegian in consecutive years from 2000 to 2003. 

Her influence is to be felt throughout the osprey population of Britain.
