@ 19:13 056 returns and being rather vocal so no problems there
19:16 056 attempts to take the fish from 054 but warned off
and still he waits

At last it is now 056's turn for the fish. As 054 finishes, he quickly grabs it and starts to eat
056 appears to be eating better. He has, however turned his back on us so can't really see much but he does not appear to be stretching his neck like he was yesterday.
Karen, is that just a 'mark' under his beak in your last pic? (post before last)
Sandra, I would say that "mark" is his throat injury and it really does look nasty!! It is interesting to try and get captures of him from all angles and that angle IMO shows the extent of the injury.
Thanks Jane, that will be helpful.
Looking at the four captures I posted at 16:28 you can see the mark under his beak however it appears quite dark which is just down to the light but in the capture above the light has caught the injury and why so prominent.
Sandra, I think we all did for it was so bright and there was quite a bit of it but looking back, it was all trickling down from his throat. Agree, he does seem to be eating much better. But another point is that this is a softer fish. Yesterday I think it was a jack pike which is a harder fish and full of bones. So this fleshy fish has to help :-)
I’ve got a couple of where he is looking straight at “us” as he is taking off, they aren’t the best but might confirm what Sandra pointed out. They are from yesterday.
