Rutland Osprey Project Once the chicks are on the live web camera post-ringing the ring numbers become public knowledge. The alternative is to shut off the nest cameras until we issue more information which I think you'd agree is not ideal. The main outcomes are all chicks and parents are healthy and safe, neither of those issues were compromised by ring numbers being placed on social media. We are a small team and do not have one staff member dedicated to social media. With that sometimes we can not post information as soon as we'd like to. Many thanks
Here is a link to Rutland's Facebook Entry should anyone wish to view it.
So I think we can safely agree that it is OK :-)
Thank you for posting this Karen & thank you to ROP. I don't have to look at the FB post I can guess who it is.
I really don't get the problem, as I said before on another thread.

The "problem" about the ring number leak is purely in the eyes of the beholder, and many internet beholders have been infected with righteous indignation and the freedom to express it. It's the basis of so much conflict.
There's been a lot of flapping on the nest but the chicks are quiet and still now.
IMAGICAT
This chick is more active again now:
I haven't seen a parent yet (unless I've jiggled past a brief landing), let alone a fish.
Morning All and thanks for all the updates.
Hard to see for the morning glare but one of the chicks on the edge of the nest preening while the others snooze just now.
FISH @ 07:10
Maya arrived following by 33 with a fish. Maya makes her way over for the fish
Maya starts feeding one of the chicks
while the other three exercise
One of the chicks is furiously wing flapping and rising high, out of sight
