Louis not seen since he delivered the fish Trying reported/snapped (thank you!) and there's this much left:
IMAGICAT
It looked as tho Aila was repelling an intruder:
But she'd merely got her baby-toe talon caught in a stick ;)
She went for a flyabout to restore her equilibrium, then returned and settled with the chicks for a short while:
Then made sure the fish was OK:
She could be sound asleep right now, what a lovely sight!
Aila dozed like that for about 15 minutes then had another flyabout - before and after which she was subjected to aggression from that chick again!
But now they've made up:
I'm packing up, due to a combination of heat and carb effects ;)
Aila brooding her chicks but very little of them tucks under now

All very soggy up there. Aila just brought in the large clump of bedding on the right
Looking back: Good medium Fish at about 05-00 am which Aila was in no hurry to grab, but did eventually take, but only after Louis had had a fair share of the fish on the nest and also fed one of the bobs with a mouthful. Note:there was still some of the overnight fish still evident. ( The overnight fish remains had provided a 20 mins earlier early 'brekkie' snack, so none were particularly hungry)
© Woodland Trust - Arkaig 2019 07-50am Another Fish (but as scylla correctly points out in next post, not exactly a new fish)...much welcomed by all
"Rollback" but from my laptop ;)
Louis brought a headless fish @ 05:00:
Aila didn't respond for a while so he tried to feed a chick from afar:
Managed it in the end:
Then Aila took the new fish from Louis, while yesterday's fish waited.
07:30-ish Louis brought a stick and took away yesterday's fish.
07:50 Louis brought back most of yesterday's fish-piece and Aila fed the chicks from it.
There followed lots of ins 'n outs with various bits of nest material, the most significant of which were:
One end of this stick was prickly/tangly:
Louis had trouble getting himself disentangled from it:
