The season so far: Maya arrived back 14 March and Blue 33(11) on 23 March. Maya laid 4 eggs 2, 5, 8 and 11 April hatching 11, 11, 13 and 17 May. Maya and 33 continue to work hard to raise their young and 33 is once more proving to be an excellent provider bringing in plenty of fish to feed his family.

Missed delivery but Maya in the midst of feeding the chicks just now. She has her back to us blocking the view but is feeding one of the older chicks just now.
#4 has edged nearer to the left and is now getting a few bits of fish
Looking miserable and Maya continues with her back to us but I am sure I just saw her swallow the fish tail. Very difficult to see.

15:11 quick check and see Maya back covering the chicks.
Truly miserable here and practically no view on the WA cam
They’re getting a bit too big for the mumbrella to work properly…

The Osprey Weekly - a digest of all the osprey news from the week just gone
Yes, addersuk they are too big plus there being four, it is just impossible for Maya to cover them. Chicks #1 & #2 are now 23 days old, Chick #3 is 21 days and Chick #4 is 18 days old. Hopefully the younger ones will be OK for they are getting soaked.
33 just landed with a whopper of a fish
Maya and the chicks are up and look as 33 flies off with it.
Just caught the tail but I hope 33 manages to hold on to it!
Then Maya and the chicks once more huddle together to try and keep dry and warm.
17:35 33 returns with the fish.
Maya starts to feed the chicks
17:39 #1 is fed first. #4 gets its way forward and stands beside #1
17:42 #4 starts to get fed along side #1
17:46 #4 now gets fed on its own as #1 turns away
17:53 #3 gets fed
17:44 #2 joins #3 and Maya feeds them both
18:20 #1 returns for more
18:27 #4 then has more fish
18:35 #4 is still having more .... don't know where it is putting it?
#2 and #3 have a couple of bits too and then they all collapse in a heap
Every chick was stuffed full and after a little break each of them returned to Maya and had seconds.
A really good feed to watch especially as there was no aggression so here's hoping they have got themselves sorted out.
Morning Patily and All
33 has arrived with a fish
Chicks line up and 33 flies off. Maya yet to start feeding and chicks lie down again
07:39 Still lying down but one chick interested and Maya starts feeding
07:45 Maya stops feeding and the chicks remain huddled together snoozing. No-one seems hungry so there must have been a big feed earlier.
Maya now tidies up.
Maya now feeding the chicks
09:10 #3 opens wide
#1 joins #3 and Maya feeds both of them - #3 getting most.
09:15 #1 then warns #3 off
and now #1 gets fed and #3 joins its siblings
09:20 #2 moves up to be fed. #1 backs away and #4 also gets itself up but waits patiently allowing #2 to be fed
09:28 #4 is now starting to get bits of fish along with #2
09:30 #2 now full and turns away leaving #4 on its own now and to as much fish as it wants :-D
09:35 #4 is now getting full and starting to back away however manages one more bit
09:35 All chicks now fed as #4 turns away and joins it siblings.
09:36 #1 has now returned for a couple of bits more but soon turns away and the others may do so too while Maya enjoys some fish.
Another good feed with no aggression other than a little warning from #1 to #3 to move on but #3 had had lots of fish.
Off now for a bit. BBL
