The season so far: Maya arrived back 14 March and Blue 33(11) on 23 March. Maya laid 4 eggs 2, 5, 8 and 11 April hatching 11, 11, 13 and 17 May. Maya and 33 continue to work hard to raise their young and 33 is once more proving to be an excellent provider bringing in plenty of fish to feed his family.

Maya feeding the chicks just now from a fish left on the nest. She has her back to us feeding them so not a good view of the feed but no doubt Maya will do her utmost to share the fish out between them.
Maya giving the chicks another top up jsut now
FISH @ 19:21
Maya wastes no time starting to feed the chicks as 33 flies off
19:42 Feed over and the chicks huddle together as Maya cleans up
Awww! Think picture speaks for itself Maya doing her best to protect the chicks

Morning All - no change here, absolutely foul and the scene at the nest just now is the same as Patily's image above.
Terrible forecast today with heavy rain, lower temperatures and a driving north wind. Warnings are issued.
And rain, albeit not so heavy, with lighter winds still forecast for tomorrow and Thursday.
I really hope these chicks are going to be OK also all the younger chicks in the other nests around Rutland.
Huge fish dropped off by 33 but Maya continues to shield the chicks.
Maya has just taken a quick comfort break and then feeds the chicks from another piece of fish
just a quick feed and now back to sheltering them
Maya up and is giving the chicks another feed just now. Feel for them all for they are soaked!
Again, it was just a quick top up to keep them going and she is once more sheltering them.
It is impossible for Maya to cover the chicks now but she seems to be moving around I guess with the direction of the wind and trying her best to provide protection placing herself as a windshield.
Atrocious conditions over the last couple of days and although the chicks' feathers are coming through, I doubt very much the chicks are fully waterproof, especially #4, but the wind also causes concern for they must be feeling it chilly.
33 is doing a fantastic job managing to bring in fish but I wish he would get himself on the nest and help out shielding the chicks.
