The silence is deafening, not least because we haven't even had sound* for a week or two, let alone an osprey on the nest.
*This is to reduce demand on the bandwidth, along with turning off the Feeder cam stream. It seems that the reason for the reduced bandwidth cannot yet be fathomed.
But who knows what the month of May will bring? First-time returners are due and there are reports of ospreys flying up thru the country. Hang in here, everyone!

IMAGICAT
Thank you, Mary :-* What a detective you are!
I would love to increase the number with an LG couple this season. C'mon you Scottish ospreys, we're all waiting with open arms!
While looking for some info, I came across this photo of George Waterson in one LG's blogs and it brought to mind this forthcoming birthday bash.
I was wonder if there are any plans to do a proper tribute to this great man and I am not talking about an osprey - we've been there!! Rather something more fitting and permanent like naming a hide in his honour similar to what the Lowes did for their first ranger.
As well as that, I would love to see some statues or plaques honouring all the ospreys that have been part of Loch Garten - Ollie, Olive, Henry, EJ and Odin. I think that would be nice and so fitting after all they are the ones who have made Loch Garten what it is.
So apart from obvious osprey talks and perhaps showing of archives, games and cake, does anyone know if anything "big" is planned?
Goerge Waterson is featured in the Loch Garten Visitor Centre Karen.

I haven't yet looked for any little birds today.
NIGHTCAM 21:46
It's been a bit like crawling thru mud, despite rebooting the LG laptop - but I didn't find a single soul all day :o It rained afternoon and evening up to maybe 20:30.
Now it's buffering :(
scylla said:I'm thinking of you as I post these snaps, BIRDSONG ;-))) They're all supposed to be civilised sizes.
Now I've seen these photos, I totally agree with Happy Hank that my juvenile Siskin was a misidentification of a female Crossbill!!! No wonder I couldn't see a yellow wing bar...
I thought the bill was just blurred but Happy Hank definitely has better eyes than me!

Hoppy Hank said: On another note I think the Siskin reported on Sunday was a female Crossbill, the bill looks too big for a siskin.
Totally agree, Hoppy Hank (Crossbill is a bird I very rarely see...). Sorry I called you Happy Hank on my reply to Scylla!
I didn't want to thank HOPPY HANK for his correction until you saw it, BIRDSONG, so now I'll say "Thanks, Hank!".
I know you know your birds, Birdsong - it was just my sub-optimal snap ;)
I never would have found him (or was it a her? the scent marking looked rather dainty) but for the picture suddenly distorting as I scrolled thru too quickly !!!
Actually the preview thumbnail is the only unfuzzy shot we got:
I'm milking it!
Foreleg on the right, thinking of climbing somewhere but didn't:
