Just reminded myself of the dates the 3 eggs were laid, and their age today;
23 April - 36 days old
26 April - 33 days old
29 April - 30 days old

Hatching window usually 35-42 days I think. But we had 'The Major Overnight Chill' on 8/9 May when the eggs were abandoned for 5 hours at 2 degrees. Of course, eggs have been left before (eg the egg which became Lachlan was left once overnight) so let's all cross our fingers and toes for happy hatching

Thank you, KORKY :)  I've been peering at the eggs thru the catchup.

Louis flew in with a licheny stick and plonked it straight onto Aila's back, then stood back waiting - Aila nagging at him the whole time.

There was someone flying around but much too small to be a threat, it was almost invisible.

Aila flew off, Louis is incubating yet again.

c. 18.36, Aila arrived at the nest, to my untrained eye it looked like she had been enjoying a bathe. Ian

Louis incubating at the moment, but on scroll back he delivered a half fish for Aila around an hour ago.

At the moment he has his back to us, but I took a snip of him just before he shuffled around

I hope so too patily. But I worry about the eggs having been chilled for so long at that stage of development. 'Lachlan' was chilled within the first 24 hours. These eggs were 15/12/9 days old. I'm wondering if there are critical stages of development when chilling matters as opposed to early days when it doesn't seem to.

What a treat to have your morning roll-back fish, MARY, it stops me angsting over Aila's underfedness ;)  Having said that, Louis doesn't look overfed.
