Around 9:22 Lassie began calling, I though Laddie was coming to the nest but she got into quite a flap and appeared to be defending. I think this was an intruder? it didn't land, flew off and Lassie settled back down to incubate

Thanks Starling. I am currently watching. Alarming to know that the birds Mary and Sandra reported were intruders and even more alarming that Laddie hasn't been seen for 24 hours.

Hi Korky, yes situation is worrying. I watched on and off all day yesterday particularly in the evening, and I remember thinking no fish, but just assumed I had missed any delivery, I expected Laddie to arrive with one late evening but no he didn't show up.

This is usually such a peaceful nest however I agree that this is a very worrying situation especially with hatching only about a week away. I just hope these intruders move on and Laddie returns quick.

It is fantastic news that PH1 has safely returned and I suppose just popping in to say Hi.

S1 did the same at Rutland but moved on and caused no problems so hopefully it will be the same here..

Yes indeed good news, thanks Mike. Would that LM12 could recognise him as one of his and not disappear off! I can't remember LM12's track record, but I am reminded of Odin (weep) and George (grimace) in the face of intruders.
