OG - enjoy your weekend in my home city. Only been to the Trafford Centre once - taken there by my brother's partner to have a look round. So huge a place.

No local elections in Northants as we are still awaiting a verdict re splitting the wards into two districts - North and South.. Not sure of the outcome yet.

April showers with a little sunshine inbetween. Dau is at a friends wedding tomorrow . Might be a bit chilly but as long as the weather is fine it should be a lovely day for them.

I'm puzzled by the supposed scare over Manchester -- We live a few miles away and have heard nothing about it.

Lynette, your daughter will probably enjoy a good day, as although a little chilly, tomorrow should be fine weather.

There's plenty of political chat on the media today. I could easily have told them the results, before it all began: everyone is totally fed up with all the manouvering, and the politicians each only worrying about their own skins, rather than what is good for the country as a whole. People were bound to use the local elections to voice their frustration with the lack of progress.

My OH has been feeling unwell, and I persuaded him to take it easy today. He says however, that he expects to be OK by the time he is due to have a special game of golf this Sunday!!

DIANE: Thanks for the link to the crow item. Nobody's left me a gift but the dominant (I assume) crow in our group lands very close to me as soon as I head into the garden. It's still cramming as much as it can in its beak before hiding it behind various plants then coming back for more.

My washing nearly dried today. It was been a grey day (I love it). Temp not rising above 20 C next week; more showers Tues to Thurs. Last 4 days we had a total of 21 mm, more in the Hills, but it is a start to the season farmers hope.

Diane, thanks for the link to the Manchester incident. Sounds as if they were on the ball over security, which is a good thing to know. We've still heard nothing about it, even on the local news!

Off to do my food shopping, then going to take look at the paint we bought yesterday, to see if the colour gives the right effect. I've told my OH that he's not to start on the project until next week, as he's not been feeling 100"%
