Yikes !!! I thought I must have missed it but it's all there waiting for attention :)))
Thank you, everyone, for the super captures and info :)
I can't believe they arrived together - but they did! ;-D
Three matings altogether, only the first successful, IMHO. They were on the nest nearly 13 minutes, this is cut down to 5 but no significant activity missing - you know how they like to stand and (males) mantle and (females) look a bit nonplussed ;)
UNCUT VERSION:
The first was the best ;)
He sat here for ages after his second nestcupping:

I really hope Aila comes back today, my nerves are shattered as it is....

Ian S said:Both yesterday morning & this morning it sounded like Louis was skydancing on his first arrival at the nest. Would he do this if Aila were not around? Ian
I think so if he was trying to attract Aila's attention. In much the same way as Odin did when EJ was awol with XD. Louis will not have seen the outcome of the chase and so will not know if anything has happened to Aila.
Cold comfort, sorry.
Cirrus, point taken but the last action on Sunday was at 16.00 when both Louis & Aila bolted from the nest in the same direction at the same time. I am not saying they were acting in concert as I know Males see off Males etc. but it did appear to me that they were acting as one unit although I realise that doesn't mean Louis saw the outcome. Anyway, time will tell. Ian
Trying to look on the bright side, at least we know that Louis is fine. Like others, I wonder whether he would be sky dancing if he can't see Aila. I don't think this early in the season he would be performing for another female, as yet unknown.... surely! I just don't like to think about Odin who was last seen chasing off an intruder. She wouldn't just abandon her nest and Louis. Oh dear, what with EJ's non-show (so far), this really is a sad start to the season. I hope we hear better news from Liz today. I will be out all day, but where possible will try to keep an eye on this thread.

Got lucky with these clips on rewind..approx 7.45 am as twas such a brief touch down.
Hope my luck rubs off and Aila is seen back on nest today

Cirrus, I think you speak for us all here. Ian
