Thanks millions, Kate, for your news regarding the changes made at Loch Garten nest. I just yesterday read the news on Facebook, several days after the it had been done.
No room for question or debate there. The staff had no choice but to follow the advice they had been given by the experts. Thank goodness, it seems to be working, but even if it did not they still did the right thing.
Even so, how devastating to have our connection with the nest just GONE. I do hope, now that we cannot see for ourselves, that the staff will keep us informed via their blog on this forum of at least major activities.
But then on the good side, the changes do seem to be working. HURRAH! for the activity which has been observed there. Much too late for any hopes of a family this year, of course, but it gives us HOPE. Hope that a young couple might find each other and bond even yet this summer. If not this summer, then there is HOPE that it will happen early next spring and they will go on to raise a beautiful brood of healthy osprey juveniles for us to cry over when they fly away to Africa.
