In the past a lot of the Lake District nests news appear on a thread entitled News from Other Nests, which includes non-UK nests. I thought it would be easier to find the LD in one place, but if anyone feels this is wrong, or wants individual threads for the four nests - are there more - please let me know and I will either amend or delete.
In 2018 there were six reported nests, with 14 fledged chicks, including 'grandchicks', "the third generation since returning from extinction in 2001".
2018 Bassenthwaite
31 March 'Bird at nest, unringed, believed to be male!'
? Unringed pair on the nest
22 April Believe White KL(09) f (Loch Arkaig chick) will not return - she did not return
2 August "Although we have no nesting pairs this year, there are signs we could have two nests next year at Lake Bassenthwaite!
Second nest? "The site you are referring to was not knocked down, we monitored an osprey (Blue 2H(13)m born in Kielder 2013) building it last year and after the heavy storms in early spring 2017 much of this nest was blown away, although the tree is still to this very day standing."
"Kielder hatched Blue 2H(13)m returned spring 2018, he continued to build and add onto the very same tree, however he was also without a partner for much of the season so no breeding took place. The tree itself is quite rotten and we fear unsafe for future use, a new nest platform will be erected in the same area before the next osprey breeding season in 2019 and we hope that it will be used by the birds instead."

FISH @ 10:41
10:42 LB was straight up to YW but 35 had the fish and dragging it round to the front of the nest. LB soon made its way and got a couple of bits of fish from 35. BB didn't seem too bothered
10:43 Then BB threatened (it did not attack) LB who turned away
10:46 YW has flown and LB keeps its back turned from the feed.
10:50 LB is moving round the nest and still BB looks over threatening. LB is very wary!
Now, which could be very risky, LB is attempting to go round the outside edge of the nest to get to the other side of 35 away from BB but thankfully turns back
10:54 BB now full and turns away and LB moves straight in and gets fed
cam zooms in - LB is getting a good feed this time
At least this time, this is a decent size fish from YW and although LB is still being threatened by BB it is not being attacked for it backs off. LB is still very wary of BB. But there is plenty fish to go round and LB is getting a really good feed.
11:03 there is still fish left but LB turns away full

FISH - missed delivery but has been recent for I've been watching on/off last half hour.
14:03 35 feeding BB. LB keeping back turned away
14:08 BB continues to be fed. LB half looking round. Not sure if this has been a decent sized fish delivered for there does not appear to be much fish left
14:10 Fish finished. Nothing for LB this time.
CWT - Foulshaw Moss
Never saw delivery but could only have been in the last 10 minutes nor start of feed but 35 is feeding BB just now and the little chick way up the nest out the road of its sibling
18:27 LB had turned facing the feed and moved forward but retreated and now is way up the nest as if to try and go around. What a shame for it - it must be really intimidated by BB
18:28 Success for LB is getting fed!
18:30 BB turns away and 35 continues to give LB lots of fish.
Looks a reasonable size fish so there should be plenty for LB

Second feed from the fish for LB, its the most I've seen s/he eat lately.
Morning Patily
Chicks lying peacfully then one gets up for a stretch, then the other, then they both settle back down again.
