I thought I'd start a new thread for Aberfoyle. Especially for Sandra (other dedicated Aberfoyle watchers are also available).

Here's the link to last year's thread.

Clarach and her beau both arrived on 15 April last year. Here's the countdown clock (from Pete Dee's site)

Clarach arrived back at her nest on 10 April 2019

We have seen this on other nests. If one of an established pair is late returning the other may begin breeding with whoever is about.
If the original partner (male or female) then returns they will sort out who is the dominant, or strongest bird.
This often means that the original partner wins, but not always.

Anyway I hope this is the male from 2017 / 18

No camera picture yet from Aberfoyle and no Facebook update. But there'll be one just as soon as I go out :-))

They are preparing a clip as we speak and Clarach is sitting tight being attended by the unringed Male
(McClarach ??).

"Clarach recorded on the nest yesterday with fish. The unringed male has also been seen on the nest.
We are aware that the issue with the broken camera link is very frustrating but please understand it is not something that the staff at The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre can fix. We will continue to update as best we can, but for now, the live stream is not available online."

That was lovely Mike. To see Clarach incubating in her very own nest., priceless. Didn't see her beau though. I liked you naming him McClarach :)
