I thought I'd start a new thread ready for this years relocation, which is year 3. Along with news of any sightings of the Translocated Ospreys from the first 2 years of the project
Carried on from last years thread HERE

Thanks, Alison. Glad to hear the fledged birds are checked on so frequently. And here I thought all you did was feed them! What other things do volunteers get up to? Or can't you tell us?
Kind regards, Ann
The only other thing I as a volunteer did was monitor the cctv pictures when the chicks were still in the pens and make notes on what they were doing (eating, flapping, perching etc). After fledging, the cctv cameras were turned onto the feeding nests so that we could try to read ring numbers and make notes on which birds had come in to feed each day (liaising with the Yagi operator in the field).
Had to reply to myself to get rich formatting!
Anyway, I saw this happening at Arne/Middlebere today. The team will be monitoring this nest platform and one other for ospreys and possible pairing/nesting behaviour throughout the season. There are other nest platforms on private land with trail cameras attached.
I'm surprised at only monitoring 2 platforms as there are more than 2 on public land. It'll be unlucky if they watch the wrong ones.
