The Poole Harbour Translocation Thread for 2019 - 2020

Photo recently posted on Birds of Poole Harbour Facebook page of LS1 and CJ7 and this comment:
'Interesting, that didn’t take long! After the discovery of one of our 2017 chicks in the harbour y’day, CJ7 made her move today & flirted outrageously with the young lad. Like any shy teenager, he got embarrassed & left. Encouraging signs though so early on. Being 2 years old, the male will be more focused on exploring the local area rather than courting, but if CJ7 has her way, they’ll be settled down ready for next spring!'

That would indeed be a great start and a real boost for the team at Poole.

LS1 has now become LS7 now that the ring has been seen more clearly! Still a male though.

Thanks, Alison. Any idea how many of the 2017 eight translocated Ospreys were males?

LS7 was the first of the chicks to fly, and then the first one to start on migration.
So he had to be the first one to return really.

I do know, but don’t have access to the info right now. I’ll let you know!

I had a look at the photo of LS3 when seen in Senegal (on BOPH website) and there is very little necklace, so maybe another male
