Hi everyone, been a bit hit and miss yesterday. Very windy conditions and the youngest almost made it but not quite. I think 4 fish were delivered in total. The wind has died down now and there are two peaceful looking ospreys on the nest Eldest one is probably roosting nearbye. Happy viewing to the night shift, see you all in the morning.

You can't see it but chick is to far left on above.
You can see it in this one
Good morning everyone.
Barbara Jean, I think it was on Saturday afternoon [UK time] I observed one of the LG chicks food soliciting from its sibling. The fish-holding one allowed the soliciting one to have at least 2 bits of fish. It was an amazing sight.

Morning all, and thanks for all your updates and occasional pics As I type it is either EJ or #1 calling from afar for food. Two youngsters on the nest. It certainly sounds as though the wind has dropped, will we see "Titch" fledge today or not?? Like the conversation bit between Titch and #2 Annette - great fun.
All seems quiet again, two sleeping. Spoke too soon, it sounds like ~EJ's still calling She has now come to the nest, probably hoping Odin will arrive soon. Practising her yoga. It sounds like the middle one is doing a lot of screeching at present, Titch is staying quiet, thats if I've got it the right way round.
Good morning all and at last i can spend time with the family today. Not managed to see a lot over the weekend but thanks to you all for keeping me up to date. As I logged in could hear EJ shrieking and chicks laying flat, EJ then arrived on the nest and it sounds as though someone wants a fish. Not even going to hazard a guess. Sure I can hear Odin shrieking away in the distance as well. It looks as though the wind has dropped at last but if Titch is going to fledge i suppose he could do with a bit of wind. Off now to catch up with everyting. Have a good day all.

At 54 days old today chick #3 is the same age as #2 when he fledged. One point however, which I have noticed recently is that chick #3 seems to me to have a weakness in his legs, maybe due to all the jumping up and down when exercising?
Also Barbara Jean, I mentioned the fish farm at Rothiemurchus and it would be possible to video fishing there in the early morning, ospreys, trees and other obstructions permitting, but it is rather expensive for an amateur to get a supervised visit early in the morning. Also from my limited experience, you would need two people, one as a lookout, as the ospreys seem to arrive from nowhere, then dive down, possibly out of sight, if trees are in the way. I checked out the price of a better telephoto lens than my present one and was quoted £4500.
