Hi everyone, been a bit hit and miss yesterday. Very windy conditions and the youngest almost made it but not quite. I think 4 fish were delivered in total. The wind has died down now and there are two peaceful looking ospreys on the nest Eldest one is probably roosting nearbye. Happy viewing to the night shift, see you all in the morning.

Oh of course. Surprise! #1 calling for food - hmm - Titch has joined in.
And it's EJ with a fish!! And she's mantling. Chick #1 mantling; Chick #2 pooping (or was that Titch?) - well, every little bit helps. Someone must follow EJ back from the fish farm every morning since this seems to happen fairly often.
Hmm. While EJ still mantling either TItch or #2 (I think) has snuck up behind in hopes of snagging a bite - or is it #1?? Oh dear. welcome to another confusing day at LG. Let's see who grabs the fish and how much they share. EJ is sitting on the fish and this chick is peering to see exactly where it is. Do hope EJ sticks around and makes sure everyone gets breakfast. Aha. EJ gets the first bite. Now she's dragging it around the nest and the other two are up and looking interested. EJ is feeding one; another doesn't seem interested at all abd can't be sure what the other one is planning - it's standing looking around and now preening but I suspect would like a bite.
Hi Annette
I am happy someone is manning the lighthouse tonight!!
Love the conversation between Titch and #2 LOL
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
My instinct tells me it's #1 who's eating. THe "sorta interested" chick I suspect is Titch, sitting on that huge branch that seems to be in a different location every time I log on. Now the other chick has moved in and EJ is feeding it.
Spot on Annette, the folks at the fish farm told me that, 5am to say 7am, many, perhaps about six osprey are fishing in the morning. So it could be as you say, that some would rather steal a catch, than bother to get wet themselves.

Ah. jsb and Barbara Jean (good morning BJ)! Are you both going to be around 'coz I'm about to fall asleep here and thinking of logging off. If Titch knows what's good for her (him?) he'll wait about 7 hours before he fledges, but somehow I don't think it's going to be that long.
EJ must have nerves of steel so face those squawking chicks several times a day to feed them. They squawk for her to serve the fish faster with each bite. What a racket

I wish someone would take a video camera to the fish farm and record EJ or Odin on a fish trip :)
That's definitely Titch on the right on that branch. I can see she's warming up to a major flapping episode.
