Strangely enough, I have one weather app giving a flood warning, and another giving a wind warning. Perhaps this adds up to horizontal rain.

Annette: Yup. I read that the solar panels are functional. Yay! They are supposed to provide 600-700 watts on a clear day -- enough to run a household blender. Margaritas on Mars. Woo hoo! That's incredible that the company that built them is so close to you. Small world! If I were the head of that company, I would have been sweating, too! I would not want that responsibility.

Diane: Margaritas on Mars? I'll drink to that! The company that built those solar panels was Northrop Grumman - huge aerospace company (my OH worked for them). We didn't know they had a staff of 100-plus employees up here, but there are a lot of small high-tech industries snuggled together just across the freeway. I think there's a lot of interaction with the folks at UCSB.
AQ: I see you have a nasty fire in OZ - Queensland - thanks to triple-digit temps. How are things in your neck of the woods?
