HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I thought I'd start the thread, because Annette is traveling.
I'm posting this photo (a National Park Service photo), because I was astonished to see a Scarlet Tanager eating small red berries in my garden this evening. These birds migrate to the tropical rain forest just east of the Andes in South America. It's been fairly cold here in my area, so this species should be long gone from here. I guess the one I saw this evening was a late migrater. I felt quite blessed to see him, and I wish the little fella well on his long journey. I hope the berries were good for him.

Well not too many kids - some of the older ones came round twice, but that was fine because I got too much candy. The youngest ones were the cutest. :-)
Annette - The oldest were the giggliest. One cute little 2 year old - I hope her mum checks her loot!!! All were full of Thank you's and Have a good evening wishes. Lovely manners.
Nice to hear that manners are still taught.
Good Morning. Grey and drizzly here. I'm going to ring my Friend later and see if I can go and visit her: my OHs sniffle disappeared and there's no sign of my having a cold, so now we're wondering if he had a reaction to the flu jab rather than an infection.
I came down today to find that Bonnie has eaten my gardening shoes, which I forgot and left by the door :-(
Its still drizzly and grey here. Just rang my Friend G, who is alright for seeing me, so I am off to visit now. See everyone later.
Quiet on here since this morning......
I've been to visit my Friend, who was on good form and pleased to see me and my offering of two fresh and warm rhubarb crumbles!
My OH said that the weather cleared up where they were (Disley in Cheshire) and all was well, except that his golf game was rubbish!
Before I start on the holiday pictures, I thought you might like to see some I took in Wales recently. The storms which had been so fierce just before we went, had done some more damage to the coast.
My OH, examining the debris deposited on the coastal path - the sea is to the right, only a few yards away.
Me and my shadow! looking back on the same path. Later, we brushed some of the pebbles and stones back with our feet so that it was easier for people to walk along.
View from standing on the banking just above the beach. Two years ago there were very few stones on this grass, but the high tides and winds have left more and more on top of the pretty wildflowers which grow there.
The tide is now coming in, over the sand which is to be found there when the tide is low.
A nice cloud formation over the mountains nearby. (not the Snowdonia range, much smaller, but not far away from them)
With the camera zoom, its possible to see one of the lighthouses on the Isle of Anglesey nearby.
Lovely pictures from AQ and Lindy - thank you both for brightening up a horrible grey wet day.
Hi, all.
Annette: I saw this article and I thought of you. It's about using new advanced satellite imagery to count and survey whales from space -- even Pacific grey whales off the coast of Mexico. I'm sure you're exhausted; no need to read this right away.
Lindy: Lovely photos of Wales. Such a beautiful place.
OG Good to heat that things are a little better for you.
Diane, that was a news report on the BBC today. It's a cheering thing to hear good news for a change.
Glad the photos were enjoyed.
