  • Went to visit Friend yesterday, steeling myself for how much hair she may have lost, but although it has been coming out, she still has about two thirds of it. She was holding court in bed, and said that she felt much stronger.

My OH returned with tales of his golfing trip - including trying to sleep in a room way too hot, with no window open, and a friend sharing who got up 5 times in the night!

  • Turned day around to avoid wet shopping - going this morning!  Hope to catch up later!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hope that J is feeling much better, OG.

  • Bonnie's Blog:

My Mum and Dad seem to have been rushing around since they came back from holiday, except for when they're huddled together doing something called "Sending complaints to the Travel Agents and the Cruise Line..."

Dad disappeared without telling me he was leaving me, for a couple of days.  Mum took me for my walks, but seems to find it harder to hold on to me when I leap up trying to examine the gardens on the way, which I know contain pesky cats, who laugh their feline laugh at me when they know I can't chase them as I'd like to. When we got to the fields where she let me off the lead, I was thinking of running all the way back to look for the black & white one I saw, but then I smelt some interesting things on the muddy path, so I forgot about it.

After my running around in circles and going twice as far as my Mum did, we turned a corner into another part of the fields where we found a whole field of sweetcorn, taller than a man. I'm sure there were lots of lovely field mouses in there but I didn't bother going in as whilst Mum & Dad were away recently, there had been a Ploughing and Hedge Laying Competition nearby. They had left the hedges neatly bent over and lots of the excess brush laying around in heaps -lots of fun for me, looking for any creatures lurking within. After a while, I got myself caught up in some prickly bits and Mum had to come and save me where my harness had got stuck. She was laughing and I didn't know why until later, when I heard her telling Dad "There were bunnies running in all directions, including one going 'lickety split' down the path we were on, but Bonnie didn't see any of them!"

    I don't see why that's funny!

  • Thank you Bonnie! What a lovely life you have :-)

  • BONNIE   Sounds like an interesting walk you had. I am sorry but I am glad that the bunnies escaped.  Thought you would like to know I had my bandage removed today and everything is looking good. Lead walks again for the next 2 or 3 days then I will be free to run.

I went ti see "A Star is Born" at Eden Court today. I really enjoyed it and Lady Gaga was good, thought to my mind no-one can come close to Barbra Streisands' wonderful voice.

  • Hello!  We’re back – and it worked well – a few drops of rain but didn’t get wet, whereas now it really is raining.  Had a very nice Turkey Treat sandwich for our lunch in M&S.  Now I shall look back at posts I have skimmed over.

Help!  I seem to have missed posting real communications for longer than I thought, so think I should continue by apologising that I can’t reply to everything – I’ll just have a read though and make sure I didn’t miss seeing anything I should know!

Thanks for enquiries about J – he was day off Wednesday as usual but did go out briefly – actually to work to collect an absence form and a request form for an hour off for GP Friday morning.  He has been to work today and seems good so far – even called in for a haircut on the way home!

Heather – sorry you have family bringing their troubles your way again – hope you can put them to the back of your mind sometimes to get a break.

Dibnlib and Annette – thanks for the emails – I will be replying!  Sorry about wee Benson – I hope he is recovering well.

Linda – good to see Friend was cheerful – I hope she will be strong enough for Friday’s chemo.

Thanks for baby congrats, but as his Grannie (my Dau#2) said – “I didn’t do anything”!  She and her husband (“Grandpa Tractor” to Miri because he has a ride-on lawnmower!) will be going to see the new arrival and family on Saturday.  Young Cyrus was actually born Tuesday and weighed 8 lb 9 oz, and presented normally so no C section this time.  Very clever to have their birthdays 8th October and 8th November – more chance of me remembering them!

AQ – lovely photos of your Little People – Miss7 looks a proper schoolgirl with her atlas, and the other two look full of joy – and mischief!  I hope your Daughter and her OH will have a lovely time at the wedding while leaving everything in your capable hands.

All that fuss over Florida – but much less being said about Georgia where I believe the storm has gone next – poorer people affected again!

Bonnie – lovely to hear from you again!  Sounds as if you were quite a good girl for your Mum while Dad was away, but I’m sorry you missed the Bunnies when you were busy investigating the brush from the hedge-laying!

Wow, we now have Benson replying to Bonnie!  Glad your foot is so much better Benson and you will soon be off the lead again!

Ah, well, I think that is me up to date now, in time for my dinner!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  •  Benson, glad you're healing well. Hope you'll soon be running around again.

AQ - That turkey sandwich sounded good. Hopefully the Doc will be able to guess at what's been ailing J, tomorrow.

I've been feeling very weary -- a combination I think, of several things - the stress of knowing that we needed to compose some complaints, plus worrying about my Friend G. Also, there's been a niggling family problem which I can't discuss here. So, off to bed early tonight. My OH is out so I will leave him to put Bonnie out in the garden when he returns.

  • Hello all, not been on for some time - hope all is well with you.

We had a very wet day at the weekend but it has been all sunny and cloudy since then and quite warm too.

Lindybird - hope you enjoyed your cruise and love Bonnies diary.

Annette and Diane - I know you haven't been hit by the latest hurricane but thinking of those who have down in the South. Stay safe and hope you are both OK.

Was fast tracked by my GP again as I never had a follow-up last year re lump down on my neck.  It is one of the saliva glands which has a probable stone in it. Saw the specialist last week and have to go for a special xray which will be sometime next month and then go from there.

Getting quite excited now as it is only a week to go to our cruise. Any tips Lindy?  Bought new cases and have already packed, making sure I can get everything in and its not over the desired weight limit of 23kgs.- Just with about 1 1/2 kgs to spare.

  • Good Morning.  Very windy and blowy, here, with more bad winds and a storm forecast where we want to head to in Wales, so I'm trying to persuade my OH that we shouldn't leave here until tomorrow.

Sounds rather concerning about that lump, Lynette, hope it can perhaps be removed. You're doing well to be packed already!

Tips:  Don't take any foodstuffs! - there's going to be more than enough to eat, available pretty much all day long. Have something warmish to put around you, either a light coat or wrap so that you can go on deck in the evening and see the amazing sunsets. Wear comfortable shoes, especially when going ashore. Don't worry too much about evening wear, as folks wear such a huge variety of things, almost anything goes!  I take my usual First Aid kit in case of coughs, cuts and colds, but there is always a Doctor on board for anything else (Don't forget to take your holiday insurance papers).I take a small amount of liquid detergent in order to rinse out some undies, which dry hung up in the bathroom.  Buy a lanyard when on board, to put your Sea Pass card in - it's all you'll need with you during the day, to gain access to your cabin, and to spend in the on board shops and bars. Have a great time!

ps - Good idea to be below weight with your cases, so that you can bring home some souvenirs and gifts!
