Hallo all! Happy New Week. (Sorry no picture.)
OG: Ha-ha - thought of nephew and BiL going out for Father-and-Son evening a somewhat fraught concept. They are like chalk and cheese as my mother would say. Toasters seem to be the most problematic appliances. We can send a man into space but can we get a toaster to do both sides of two pieces of bread evenly? No
Heather: Have not heard much about your bro in the last year or so. Hope they've adjusted to life in France (dental problems aside). Weren't they starting a business? I've done salmon (rarely) in the microwave and my niece said she's used it for that too with good results. She also used it to start off some asparagus one night before I put it in a pan to sautee. It speeded things up and it turned out well. .
Had lovely chat with my sister in Lincolnshire today while her OH was off at his volunteer gig (must remember timing for future chats!). She says they've put the heating on today for the first time this season.
Off to gym and some errands.
ANNETTE - pleased you have already hit on a good time to contact your sister for a real chat - hope his volunteering is regular!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Was I really last yesterday and first today? Wow! Good morning - dull so far, should be brighter later. A busy day here - hope a good one for everyone!
Hey! Wake up, people!
OH has cleaned the study and I have done some paperwork elsewhere, now he's vacuuming in the lounge. Hairdresser coming for him soon. This afternoon we shall be making chutney to use up the few remaining tomatoes.
BUT main news is we already had a visitor!
Stayed a while, but unsuccessful if he wanted a meal!
OG: I'm alive!! Just contemplating the weather, it is running behind the forecast, sunny intervals might be here by midnight!
Good Morning OG and FB.
We hosted a Resident's Committee meeting here last evening, so have been busy.
Rather opposing views! Old Timers v Newcomers. We are somewhat in the middle (as usual, I think)
Going out to lunch with a friend, so no doubt will sort the world, as Annette would say.
Rosy: that will be a long lunch then.
I've just got back from golf - think we had the best of the day, as the clouds seem to be gathering. At first I thought I'd forgotten how to hit a ball!!! But it did get better …
Morning all: Grey and cloudy here today; drizzle expected instead of steady rain we'd hoped for.....
Not much on the agenda today except I see the big humming bird feeder is empty - again.
