Hi everyone, I've not been in much to the site today, on and off. It was thought that the youngest had fledged but this is in doubt and until it is confirmed by The Team we can assume that it hasn't yet.
There have certainly been some near takeoffs and helped by the wind, the youngest has jumped and "flown" across the nest but this is all. It has been the eldest getting bolder and the middle one taking on more flights. There's time yet.
Peaceful scene here with two young on the nest and the eldest probably on the cam post or way to the left at the edge,, don't really know where he is.
Happy viewing and we'll see what to day brings. Over to the night shift.

Thank goodness for that ............................ night cam on and Middle youngster finally gets a feed from EJ after Youngest had its way with the entire fish.
and what does EJ have for supper?
Night vision on - so whoever had the fish last has finished with it and it looks like its EJ feeding is it #2 or "Titch"
Now that i see the eyes that was Titch with the fish!!
He walked away full. EJ took charge of the remaining fish and is feeding #2. . There is about half of the fish remaining
Titch certainly did a great job feeding himself . And he mantled over his prize to defend it.
#2 needs to learn to defend it's food.
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
So its the middle one then getting a feed from EJ
A big THANK YOU for all today's posts and brilliant pictures. Joan, just love your capture of all three 'chicks'. They look as though they are posing for you. Also thanks Lynette for a super video.
I am not sure I can try and absorb all the ID information at this hour.
Thanks for night shots Lynette.
''#2 needs to learn to defend it's food. '' It certainly does Barbara Jean - NOooo doubt about it
Do you notice that chick #3 has that "Shall I jump?" look tonight. I imagine it will fly tomorrow!

EJ is such a great Mum. When any of the chicks want to take the fish and try to feed themselves she lets them have it. Then she stays close by in case they can't do it. But she doesn't interfere if they are struggling .
She can see #2 is not ready to fed itself so she does it
She is calling Odin to bring another fish, but this late in the day that is doubtful. I can hear him answering her :)
He is saying , "I am done working for the day . They don't look like they are wasting away to talons and beaks. They can wait until morning. "

Yes, I gree with you there, Barbara Jean.
Perhaps she is calling to let 1 know she is around; or perhaps she wants some more herself!!
