Thanks, All, for the posts and links. I suppose that totals are better than nothing and at least the number of nests which fledged chicks is the same as last year, not fewer. But Anya mentions 'positive signs' for next season--that sounds good. Let us hope that whatever the signs were that their promise is fulfilled next year!
Kind regards, Ann
That's rather a disappointing "round up" I thought from the hints it was going to be a bit more detailed than that
Hi Patily, I thought so too! Censorship at work I suspect.
Birdies LG DU update.
Hi MIKE
I'm away at the moment, but didn't the blog, announcing the two new tagged birds, suggest they had 'territories', and one of the males was nest building at Lagoon 4? That could be positive news if a couple of females from 2015/6/7 decided to return! Lots of ifs and buts!
Just my personal view but I think Rutland have the correct policy , we don't know all the details of known nests in Scotland so I don't feel the need to know all the details from Rutland either , if we see a ringed bird we can get the info from BTO or RD . Have joy in the fledging numbers and the fact we now have 3 birds to follow and then Scotland once again have some to follow although after last years tracker failure perhaps not a good idea :( we shall see .
A happy Cormorant is dozing on the nest at the moment! Dyfi chat says 'Colin' was a visitor to the nest before the Ospreys arrived.
The Cormorant has been preening, looking around and dozing - quite entertaining
