EDIT
Late in the day I changed the title of this thread from "DU" to "Off-Season Obs" ~ anyone is welcome to suggest a better title than the current one :)

No osprey presence yesterday, but in the evening a visit from an osprey nemesis ;)

TIGER has reminded us that we mustn't jump the gun when our ospreys don't appear on-cam, or even at the Centre, for a day or two, so we wait...

And here was this morning's squirrel, who dislodged the early birds who dislodged the Crestie ;) Heehee.

'Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of our technical team, the planned changes earlier in the week were not actually completed and it means we will be taking the Community down again this evening so the work can be completed.
The site will be offline between midnight tonight (Thursday 6th December) and 10am tomorrow(Friday 7th December).'
Unfortunately the Loch Garten Bird Feeder Webcam is down and offline.
Regards,
Ian.

That's because the site was down for much-needed improvements to be... um... done.
I'm trying to ascertain what's been... um... done :(

What thread, Korky? I'm very lost today, people are referring to posts that I can't find. I might even have a tantrum.
(That should bring MIKE out of the woodwork!)

LIVE BIRD FEEDER CAMERA: Good morning. Our server host company installed a new computer last night in what was promised to be a seamless operation. I think you know where this is going...... I am in touch with on an hourly basis to see when everything will be back on line. I will let everyone know how things go. Peter
11.40 Many thanks Peter for letting us know, and for keeping us in the loop.
I have also come across a post explaining that the RSPB site would be down last tonight, here. There is a follow-up post reporting success and adding:
Morning everyone,
I'm very pleased to say that we had a successful evening and managed to complete the purpose of the downtime. Thank you for your patience and sorry for having to take the Community offline for a second time this week.
In response to a few of the other questions asked on this thread:
1. EU/UK/Brexit - We are not expecting to need to move the servers again following the outcome of Brexit, but if this position changes for any reason, we will of course let you know.
2. All the other changes that have been requested on the various threads are currently being fully reviewed with our Digital Experience team and Community partner, alongside all the other requests for changes, development and improvements for the whole RSPB website. Once a plan is confirmed we will share this.
Many thanks and I'm sure we'll be speaking again soon.
Elliott.

Hi, So we are up and running again with the feeder cam. They may need to do a couple more things to the server, but that will be done tonight.
