Just when we were mourning the loss of our matriarch to the southern climes already, a young male shows up on the perch. Maybe he was GJ, he certainly looks familiar. Lorna B caught him on the cam and Sheila then captured! Otherwise we would have seen no one---he didn't stay there long. No EJ though...(Limpy's capture color-edited by me)

So glad you are still here Scylla and that I haven't missed you as you head to the land of nod.
Yes I cannot stop thinking about EJ, "where is she now" etc too, the end of every season leaves me with a heavy heart, these last few days of not seeing her on camera and not knowing if she has gone or not has been hard. She is a legend is our EJ, she gives so much joy to so many people, she doesn't know the half of it. :-)

Good morning MC.
Birdies LG DU update.
Good Morning SCYLLA MARY MIKE I was here a while ago but got Access Denied Signed out and sign in again so hope all is well
The nest looks like a hurricane has hit it
Doubly sad as we think of the incredible EJ flying south and remembering dear Odin tidying the nest before they left

Sorry you had to greet me twice, MIKE :-*
Once upon a time we used to be told that EJ had soared off on her way south, witnessed by the VC - that hasn't happened for a long time.

Good morning, PATILY :)

Looking at the nest earlier I was thinking that GJ hasn't tended it - if he's not gone there's still time but I don't see him doing it, somehow.
Hi Patily.
Silvery green nest now...
Well, that's how it looks on the LG laptop but the reddy brown bits are showing up more on this laptop.

I also can remember one time LoTL actually followed Lady on the webcam as she flew round the loch and got higher and higher and off she went on migration. It wasn't her last time I think it was a few years before that.
Edit: Morning Patily
Well if EJ appears back on the webcam I will be delighted, but as I think she has now gone, I will say my farewells to her now.
EJ may not have had chicks these last two seasons, which we probably feel more of a loss than she does, she did everything that a breeding Osprey does, she came back, she found a mate (an unreliable one) she laid eggs, she incubated them and stayed with them for 7 or 8 days without being fed, what more could any living human expect of her, she did it ALL and I for one will be dancing a jig when she returns next season for she is one very phenomenal Osprey.
These are my two favourite screen shots of her taken on 26 March.
Now I am away to find a hanky!
Lovely captures Mary.
