Back from a PhD defense celebration. I have been checking in occasionally while away, and see that the time for intruders has come upon us again. I wonder how strenuous GJ has been in helping repel them... The on thing I did notice about yesterday's posts was the LUMINOUS captures scylla has managed to highlight, beginning with her treatment of backlit EJ (from Tuesday) followed by her ethereal frame around GJ (from Tuesday, too, I had to pick one), and then the really beautiful *almost* monochrome dusk at the end of the day.
Such beauty while we are reporting on osprey! (Even though only the last shot was technically from yesterday. I had missed all the afternoon hubbub somehow from the day before, Tuesday.)

Good evening, CC, glad to see you back and thank you yet again! :-*
I missed you by 2 minutes when you posted initial "New DU" on yesterday's thread. I have to post a catchup in there because I've found 2 unseen intruder episodes and a nest visit - I had been desperately looking for a decent view of EJ to start today with when I came across all that activity which had gone on while I was asleep and no-one happened to be watching at the time...
Anyway, I've done rough extractions and now have to make them watchable. Did I mention how difficult the PTZ footage is to navigate? You bet I did, it's just a question of how many times, lol !!! ;-D
See ya later!

Hi scylla, why is the PTZ footage so difficult? Is it because it is difficult to see anything at such a distance compared to the nest?

It's the nature of the recordings - I can't scroll smoothly thru it like I can (fairly well) with the nestcam, it lurches forward with lots of still bits in between, therefore it's very easy to miss important stuff :(
I've finished the catchup, about to post now... just came back to check up on you first ;)
CATCHUP
I forgot about the snaps, they take me ages too.
Just so you don't miss it ;)
No-one home:
I'm going to get something to eat - sod's law someone will arrive...
In fact, daycam just kicked in.
DAYCAM 04:41hr:
Another sod's law - the cam went down while I was gone:
I happened to pop back in to check (paranoidly) and refreshed it back up:
All quiet on the tree front :)
Osprey chirping.
One alarm chip... more...
It's gone very quiet.
