LINK TO JULY 2018
i wonder how much longer we will have Lassie around for, she was last seen 5th of August last year.
Both juvies on the nest, they were having a tug of war with the fish.

I couldn't post at the time but he did defend the nest against a corvid!
Starling - You have provide us with some good captures and thoughts. It is great to come back home and see the moments you watched from the hide.
I have been visiting LOTL on a very regular basis this last week or so at varying times of day sometimes on an evening as I like to watch the beavers come out of the inlet estuary below the nest and whilst awaiting them just watch the family of ospreys and deer come to drink at the inlet estuary.
Yes they are noisy and if the chicks are screeching you can hear them in the car park as you park the car. Generally it is over the rights of a fish.
Yes one day soon I will not see LF15 when I visit (I have been fortunate to see all 4 on every visit and a few more). Watching her from the hide she is very contented the last few days just observing her two chicks feeding and fighting it out between them. Doing plenty of flying herself also so getting ready for her trip south and when she is satisfied these two are OK with LM12 and the winds are favourable she will be off (Just as Mary Poppins did).
Keith - You are so lucky to be able to visit Lowes so often, and what you describe above is just how I imagine Lowes to be. I have never been, but it is on my to-do-list of places I would love to go. Yes LF15 - won't be long before she is off just as Mary Poppins did- I love that!

Richard, I have managed to somehow avoid that film so can't comment on Nanny McPhee :)
Would love to see an Osprey holding Mary Poppins' umbrella!
Kind regards, Ann
Hello my fellow Ospreyholics.
Many thanks for all the updates etc, since I last posted, and since we're now in the August thread I might as well say: Happy New Month!
The youngsters have cetainly grown into beautiful young Ospreys. To be honest, it doesn't seem too long ago that they were tiny wee bobbleheads. These days, the youngsters certainly have loud voices.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
