Agree, LINDY - home is best but that is what I always think! I love being at home with all my bits and pieces around me, my own bed etc etc. Perhaps that makes me a dull person but what the heck!
After our talk of snakes with Annette and AQ the other day, I've just seen a "heartwarming" story on the BBC News Website. Look for "Hero dog". It describes the events of a girl hiking in Arizona who came upon a rattlesnake!!
Just read it, LINDY after I saw your post! Wow. I think I'll just stay at home.....
Lindybird: As they say: No good deed goes unpunished. :-)
Heather: Thanks for the reminder to be vigilant re snakes. :-(
Was amazed to hear that they've now found those schoolboys, underground in Thailand. Wonderful that the searchers never gave up!
Of course, now they have to figure out, how to get them out.
Just saw that on the online News, LINDY. I'm sure that it will be talked about on tonight's BBC World Radio ( as you know, I'm a captive audience for that!)
A lovely evening here, once again. I'm imagining OG and EE sitting outside enjoying the cool!
I was amazed when I heard they had found the children - reminded me of those miners some years ago who were all rescued. I do hope there is a happy ending … sounds like it will be you and me and World Service tonight, then, Heather! It's my regular companion most nights. The radio goes on when I wake up, and the programmes are usually so interesting I have to stay awake to listen to the end!
Still really hot even though it's almost 9.00pm - and getting humid. Perhaps we are due some thunder? Or even some rain - which we really need. Everything is so brown and dry - and the golf course is cracking up.
Yes, PAT, I was also reminded of the Chilean miners. I'm the same with World Service. As an insommniac I find it a great companion - except when I do start to feel sleepy and the programme is too interesting! I think that DIANE is also a listener, over in Indiana.
Insomniacs of the world, unite - with World Service! What would we do without it?!?!?!?
Heather and Pat O: Yup, you can count me among the World Service devoted. I can't stand the silence here (after living in the big city all those years). I worry over every little sound during the night. So I turn the World Service on when I go to bed, and I leave it on all night. I listen until I go to sleep, and then I'll listen some more if I wake up during the night. Don't know what I'd do without it.
