Since we have had so many lovely tributes to EJ, I thought it only fair to post a portrait of our "resident" male. However, I think our King George is rather tongue-in-cheek, and so is the portrait I have prepared, done out of a certain amount of teasing affection. May he live up to the idea, though with fish, of course!
I guess EJ has a grudging affection for him too, and so I wish him well and hope he takes advantage of this season as a teachable moment.

Great Scylla, I am not sure what that is.... some kind of warbler maybe or a meadow pipit but back doesn't look brown enough....

Good morning everyone. Phew, another hot day in prospect, we shouldn't complain..
No change - empty nest - definitely....
Good Morning CATHY and Everybody
Good to know Cromarty is still around MARY
EJ has been fishing at Aviemore - Well another spectacular morning, think we had 5 different Ospreys in, while they are fishing early, the light is something else right now.... the last Osprey was EJ... and boy did she put on a show for everyone, flying round and round really low in as good a light as i ever get before diving and getting a fish, while i have to do a lot more work to keep everything going because of the 31 degrees,(got finished at 9pm last night) it seems to be well worth it, and again today we have some stunning images.... and hundreds of EJ.
Valerie
Good morning, and thank you CC for your brilliant start to the day. Cornucopia, eh? But where is the fish :)!!
Again, I will be in and out...
ENS with sunshine, and a breeze blowing the bright green green occasionally.
Could the wee bird be a young stonechat? Speckled front and a hint of a band around the neck? Just a suggestion!

LOL Valerie, I had only just looked, and there was nowt there! Thank you! So she will be on the Love Tree, eating her fish, just now! :)
Hi all. Valerie, you beat me to it.
There were two small birds earlier, Willow Warbler early and then a Spotted Flycatcher I think. Flight was right anyways.

Day 6 at Aviemore Ospreys, in the original hide this morning, pond covered in mist, outcome not looking good, then the mist lifted the light improved and in she came. EJ at her very best, here is a sequence of shots as she caught and left with breakfast.
I got them mixed up, but you can see what's what. Stunning photos Kenny.
